Gardasil Vaccine
Gardasil vaccine prevents several different strains of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is known to cause different cervical cancers. Most HPV virus infections are found with a PAP smear test. If undetected the virus may go away on its own or may develop into cervical cancer.
Gardasil is given as a three shot series: One now, 2nd shot in 2 months after first dose and the last vaccination 6 months after the first shot.
Gardasil is indicated for women and girls 9-26 years of age.
Gardasil should not be taken by pregnant women.
